Donna J. Hudson Buckner was born December 18, 1936 in Sikeston, Missouri the daughter of Alpheus Shelley and Velma Lorine (Boston) Hudson. She graduated from Mark’s High School and from Southwestern at Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee.
Donna was a co-owner and bookkeeper for Bayview Marina in Pass Christian, Mississippi and then worked for the Mississippi Department of Human Services as a Child Support Enforcement Officer until her retirement.
On August 19, 1991 she married Burnice Eugene Buckner of Mark’s, Mississippi in Long Beach, Mississippi. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Long Beach, Mississippi
Donna passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Village Manor in Abilene, Kansas. She is survived by her husband Burnice Eugene of the home; sons Mark (Cathy) Bowen of Clayton, North Carolina, Alan (Helen) Bowen of Madison, Mississippi; beloved sister Sheila Hurlbut of Abilene, Step mother Ruth Hudson of San Antonio, Texas and half-sister Nancy (Oliver) Crawford of San Antonio, Texas; step brother Robert Hudson (Gayle) of San Francisco, California; and 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt & uncle Roddis and Geri Berryhill.
The family has selected cremation. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Mississippi. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dickinson County and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
