After graduating from Kansas State Teacher’s College in Emporia, she became a beloved kindergarten teacher in Chapman, KS. On August 5, 1966, Connie married the love of her life, Ned Stirtz, in their hometown of Abilene, where they stayed to build their life and family together. Connie was a longtime member of Emmanuel Church in Abilene, KS where she loved to serve others, gather with friends, and praise the Lord.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Orrin and Olave Condit, husband Ned Stirtz, and brother in law Kenny Wetzel. She is survived by her sister Orrene Wetzel of Abilene, KS; sons Roger Stirtz (Renee) of Liberty, MO and Ryan Stirtz (Sarah) of Abilene, KS; grandchildren Mason (Carly), Caden, Bennett, Cooper, and Abram Stirtz; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A service to honor her life will take place on Tuesday, November 17th at 10:30am. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the service will include immediate family only. There will be a live stream available on Emmanuel Church’s Facebook page of the service (https://www.facebook.com/ecabilene ). It will also be posted later on Emmanuel Church’s Youtube if you cannot watch live. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTzPahCOcsPE8jLHgMEFjhw)

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that loved ones make donations to Emmanuel Church (1300 N. Vine, Abilene, Kansas 67410) or to the Parkinson’s Foundation (https://www.parkinson.org/) in Connie’s memory. Memorials may also be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.
