Obituary for Ronnie Hanschu
Ronnie Hanschu, 72 of Ramona passed away October 15, 2022 at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro. He was born February 17, 1950 in Herington, Kansas, the son of Wilbur and Burma (Schlesener) Hanschu. He went to school at Ramona Grade School and graduated from Centre High School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ramona.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Lisa of the home. His mother, Burma Hanschu. Four daughters: Sommer Durante; Stephanie Keller and husband Chad; Dr. Melissa House and husband Jon; and Anna Weber and friend, Austin Johnson. One step-son, Gordon Hunicutt and wife Sarah and one brother, Rick Hanschu and wife Barb. His family, His grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews/great nieces and nephews and so many who loved and admired him.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Wilbur, a brother, Rory Hanschu and a son, James Weber.
The family has chosen cremation. A Celebration of Life Service for Ronnie will be at his homestead, (3510 Sunflower, Ramona, Kansas 67475) 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 22. Casual attire and services as Ronnie would want it. A lunch will follow at the Parish Hall in Ramona, KS.
His ashes will be scattered on the farm and an inurnment will take place at later time at Lewis Cemetery, next to his son, James. There will be no visitation but family will receive guests prior to services.
Ronnie lived his life as a farmer/rancher working long hours on his acres and in his custom businesses. He was known for his ornery smile and quick sense of humor. He loved giving people a hard time and he was always ready with a good comeback. He dedicated his life to farming, working the ground and caring for livestock.
He was a Distributor for Archer Oil for over 30 years and he served in the US Army Reserves.
He was a source of strength for Lisa. Life was not always easy, but the love they shared always endured beyond any obstacles they faced. It was the sound of his diesel truck coming up the driveway that always made her know that everything would be ok. His love and companionship will be deeply missed by her.
The family suggests memorials be made out to Lisa Hanschu to be used for the James Weber Memorial Scholarship or Donor’s choice.
