Obituary for Robert Murnahan

Robert “Bob” Murnahan, 77, of Abilene, KS. passed away Jan. 4th 2021 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Center in Enterprise. He was born April 25th, 1943 in Salina, KS to A.W. & Helen Murnahan. He graduated from Chapman high school. After high school, Bob enlisted in the US Navy in San Diego, Ca. from 1961 – 1967 serving 1 tour in Vietnam. He had various jobs including Singer Sewing Machines in Junction City, Ks. Ehrsam Mfg. in Enterprise, Ks., Vac-U-Blast in Abilene, Ks. and was the plant manager at E & K Threading in Kimball, Ne. After his retirement, he moved back to Abilene to be near family.
On Feb. 12th, 1972 he was united in marriage to Sondra France. They made their home in Abilene, Ks and Kimball, Ne. He moved with his wife for her job with Alco/Duckwall to Waynoka, Ok and Olney, Tx. After her retirement they moved back to Abilene. He attended the United Brethren Church in Abilene and the First United Methodist Church in Olney, Tx.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons Richard and Erric, 2 daughters LaSharon Glascock and Tanya “Renee” Tallyn. 2 brothers Donald and Greg. 2 brother-in -laws Richard and Jerry France.
He is survived by his wife Sondra. His son Jason (Denise) Murnahan of Abilene. Daughter-in-law Shawn Murnahan of Mayview, Mo. Son-in-law’s Brian Glascock of Katy, Tx. and Nick Tallyn of Jacksonville, Fl. 3 brothers Paul (Colleen) Murnahan, Allon (Lisa) Murnahan and Mark (Peggy) Murnahan. 2 sister in-law’s Pauline France and Sharon Murnahan. 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 3 Great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
The family has chosen cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date after the Covid pandemic has passed. Burial to be in the Abilene Cemetery.
