Richard (Dick) Bruce Osborne, 88, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Sunday, November 22, 2020
in Enterprise, KS.
He was born June 23, 1932 in Winona to Allan and Margaret (Brose) Osborne and graduated from Winona High
in 1951.
On September 12, 1954 Dick married his high school sweetheart Pattie Ann Olmstead. Dick and Pattie made
their home in Winona and had three daughters. Cathie, born in 1956, was sickly from birth, became the first
diagnosed case of Cystic Fibrosis in Winona at age 3, and died at age 5.
After graduation, Dick went on to serve in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955 where he was a vehicle
mechanic. He joined the Winona Fire Department and served the City of Winona for 38 years. Dick retired as
Captain of the Winona Fire Department. For many years Dick also worked part time for Hauser Art Glass
Company. Dick was a frequent volunteer at Winona Health and the local food shelf.
After retirement Dick enjoyed breakfast with the fireman, fishing in the lake and river, riding his scooter around
town and spending time with family. In 2016 Dick moved to Kansas to live with his daughter Tami and family.
Dick is survived by daughters Tami (Klaire) Keller of Abilene, KS and Terri (Baird) Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN;
five grandchildren, Kelsey (Chad) Briand, Charlie Keller and Rachelle, Charlotte, and Nicolette Johnson; a great
granddaughter Kynsley Briand. Dick is further survived by nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pattie, daughter Cathie, brother Alan Jr., sister-in-law Mae and
brother-in-law Richard.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date in Winona. Details will be posted in the Winona Daily News.
