Obituary for Carol Waldrop

Carol Sue Waldrop 12/23/1940-9/10/2022.
Mother of Jody Waldrop (Abilene) and Lori Amanda Waldrop (Pembroke Pines, FL). She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Shannon and her husband, William Travis Waldrop. Carol was born in Detroit, MI, moved to Florida in her teens and married in her early twenties. After marriage, she lived in her same house for 62 years until moving to Kansas. Her love of life was teaching Kindergarten kids for 23 years. After teaching, she was very active in her neighborhood watch program with the Sheriff's office and campaigned with Florida Republicans. She helped candidates such as Jeb Bush and Allen West have victories in their roles and even won an award from the Mayor upon her retirement with the neighborhood watch team. After moving to Kansas in April, Carol would often say, "When will I be going home?" You have now made it, Mom! You are now at home with Jesus! Will see you again. The family has selected cremation and there will be no local services. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s Bibles and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
